Why Water
You have heard it before, drink lots of pure water daily to stay healthy. But do you know why and do you know why it is so important that you make it a "first thing in the morning" priority?
Drinking at least one full glass of water, and preferably two will get all of these necessary bodily systems
- Respiration
- Digestion
- Circulation
- Glandular secretion
- Temperature regulation
- Waste elimination
ready for the day after the long "drought" known as your sleeping hours. Try it and experience the feeling of becoming completely awake and alive, without the mid-morning slump that a caffinated and or sugary drink will ultimately bring. You will feel the vibrancy as soon as you finish the first morning glass. The most important water of the day is taken as soon as you wake up, and incorporating this into your daily wellness routine will kick start your day like no cup of coffee could ever do!
Virtually every bodily function, requires water. Water helps to lubricate, insulate, protect, and give flexibility
to the muscles, ligaments, and joints. The best part is, this is totally safe and natural, no drugs or their "dis-ease" causing side effects!
Water is the most common molecule in the human body. Adults are about 45-75 percent water, depending on the percentage of body fat. Fat cells contain less water than muscle cells. Muscle tissue, about 50-70 percent water, contains approximately ½ of the water found in the body. If you are feeling muscle fatigue, it is probably a lack of water.
Blood is up to 80 percent water, brain grey matter 70-85 percent and bones 20-33 percent. Approximately five eighths of the body water is inside the cells and three eighths is outside the cells; between the cells and in the circulation. Because the brain is made of so much water, that is why it is so important to make that first glass go down as soon as you get out of bed. It makess you feel alert immediately.
The following are just some of the "dis-eases" or conditions that water can help alleviate.
- Arthritis
- Cancer
- Constipation
- Diabetes
- Gastritis
- High Blood Pressure
- Tuberculosis
Although there are no side effects to this totally natural way to improve your wellness, in the beginning, you may notice an increased frequency of urination until the body accustoms itself to the new pattern of water intake.
Start slow and increase your intake until you are up to at least 8 - 8oz glasses at minimum. Increase your intake
depending on your activity, weather conditions, illness, or dehydrating events such as vomiting and diarrhea.
A systematic approach to water drinking is best. Here is one suggestion. Drink 2 glasses (16 oz.) upon arising.
This is a good internal cleanser first thing in the morning. If for some reason you feel the need to "flush-out" your system, drink warm to hot water. Otherwise drinking room temperature is best...be regardless, hot, warm, romm temp or cold, just drink it! Then, another 2 glasses midmorning and 2 more mid
afternoon. Another way is to take a quart with you in the morning and sip it all morning and then another quart in
the afternoon and do the same. More water than this amount may be needed, depending on the circumstances. Try to
avoid drinking water with your meals as it has the effect of diluting gastric acids needed for digestion.
Water is the only fluid your body requires... not juice, soda, coffee, tea (although herb teas are fine) or milk.
Water is the only thing that will not compromise your health, and in fact will vastly improve it.
By increasing our water consumption we decrease the work load on the kidneys, wake up or brains, ease our joints, help with elimination, and provide all of our bodily systems with the fluid needed to run smoothly so we can maintain or improve our wellness.
Drink-Up!
