Ancient Wisdom says that when the student is ready, the teacher will come. In 2003 this student was ready and so Reiki came into my life.
Reiki is an ancient healing practice that is learn and passed down from teacher to student, students becoming teachers, anyone can learn it, it is accessable to all. It is revered by those who truly understand it's source, it conflicts with no one's personal belief system.
The short form of my personal story with Reiki began in the summer of 2003, I had just lost my job at what I thought was going to be my last place of employment, I intended to retire from that company when the time came. The owner had other ideas. I had just purchased my first single family home, a new car, and was expecting my first grandchild, I had just gone through a long overdue divorce and so was totaly on my own, no savings, and no job. And, if all of that were not enough, property taxes shot up 100 to 500 percent in my county due to governmental mis-calculation of previous years tax bills. A perfect storm of financial concerns and totally unpredictable turn of events, and not the best time to be laid-off but there you have it.
Stress, worry, anxiety were on my plate big time. After a few months trying to juggle all the plates I felt as if I were at the breaking point...then I was introduced to Reiki. I can not tell you in words how Reiki, and my personal inquiry and journey into "self" has changed my life from that time forward, so I will offer instead the opportunity to listen and watch a short video that was written and recorded by one of my beloved Reiki mentors and teachers. She inspires me and does an excellent job of trying to explain what Reiki is...but there are no words to truly explain what Reiki does...the loving, healing energy and power of Reiki is beyond words. It is very much something one must expereice themselves.
